From the very first start, I knew this was the very best Africa has to offer.
The camp is nestled in the middle of the bush, not off a black tar highway like most places are. The entire staff, with Max as their superb chef, are 100% professional at their jobs. The properties are large and a real haven for the many wild native animals that habitat there. Especially the Kudu!
I started with Hardus & Venessa in 1999 and ended with my daughter arriving in 2022 to share one more fabulous wildlife adventure. Will this be the final end of my coming back?

South Africa is the dream of any hunter, and Phumba Safaris has been a fantastic surprise for me.
Located in the Limpopo Province in the northeast part of the country, very close to the Botswana border. The camp is nice, the food is excellent, and all services are provided by a kind staff.
The area is full of a diversity of animals, especially high-quality antelopes. as well as in other African countries.
Phumba Safaris can also arrange hunts in other Provinces like Freestate or Eastern Cape in South Africa,
Hardus and Venessa are excellent outfitters, always taking care of everything before and during the hunt. Deon is an extraordinary PH, and he is always looking for the best trophies to hunt, prioritizing the hunter’s safety. He moves and thinks like a leopard, and his dexterity is out of this world.

This summer, we stayed at the Phumba Safaris camp. It was the first trip to South Africa for my brothers, my boyfriend, and myself, not our parents. It was a remarkable experience that we will never forget.
Even though we are a hunting family, it was our first experience for us in South Africa, and without our incredible professional hunters, which made the thrill of looking for the animals exhilarating and always fun, it would not have been the same!
My brothers especially loved chasing after the Elands, amongst many other animals. It was also my first time hunting an Impala and seeing giraffes close.
We were amazed by the camp; our rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
We had lunch and dinner with our hosts, Hardus and Vanessa, which made us feel at home and part of the family. The food was outstanding. We were able to eat the meat we hunted, which was prepared professionally by Max, the chef, and we enjoyed his daily presentations of the food.
It was truly a treat and added to the overall experience of the trip. On top of all this, we had a girls-only morning, where we went to a beautiful Spa in a Marula tree. We did some gin tasting and got massages, as well as enjoyed the dances of the local boys.
Overall, our trip was an unforgettable adventure that we actually hope to come back to as it has become our dearest family trip where we made such good memories and met great people that we hope to visit again!
